Blackberry Playbook Review

I wanted to do a Blackberry Playbook Blackberry Playbook Review review because the recent drop in price and updated OS makes this a more attractive device than when it first launched. The new playbook is very strong and solid for a 7″ tablet.

Blackberry playbook review-detailed specs

Coming in at .9 pounds, it feels like it could survive getting banged around in luggage or getting used as a GPS device while walking. There are a variety of protective cases available for it as well, which make it even more resistant to getting damaged.

The specs are one of the reasons an updated blackberry playbook review was in order, because it retains the familiarity of the Blackberry quick launch interface, but now it runs OS 2.0 and comes with a full range of multimedia apps. This is a welcome change from the launch release of the product.

As the core of the device, there is a 1 GHz dual core processor with 1 GB RAM capable of symmetric multi-processing. The playbook also comes equipped with a motion sensing gyroscope for those of us who like gaming on tablets or use apps that need a gyroscope.

There are 32GB and 64GB internal storage options, and it’s easy to connect to various other devices or external storage as well using the built-in 802.11 a/b/g/n WiFi, the micro USB port, the micro HDMI port or bluetooth.

Other great touches that make the tablet an attractive option are the front and rear facing 1080P HD cameras and 1080P 7″ screen with absolutely great color. It runs in both portrait and landscape.

The device supports the common video and audio media formats and comes with a full range of multimedia, lifestyle and productivity apps. For those of us into customizing our devices, the playbook has built in access to the RIM appworld repository. This post is also necessitated because there is now limited android support for playbooks. Some of the best known android apps like Google maps have been ported to run on RIM devices

The launch version of the playbook had a few bugs, as you know if you’ve read any older review out there. This new version comes highly recommended though and is full of the fixes users wanted to make a decent product a great and inexpensive one.

This is now one of the better tablets you own, and a must have for anyone who already has a blackberry device or headset. While not a feature everyone would need, the blackberry bridge integrates RIM devices seamlessly. For the rest of us, bluetooth and WiFi connectivity get the job done. All in all RIM has put out a pretty good product, and a great product for the price, now that the price has been reduced. With the added features and the price being right, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this device.
